Our Director, Dr. Tejpal Singh Tomar was invited by Central Potato Research Station (CPRS), Modipuram to attend the meeting which was organized on July 26, 2025 to honor the newly appointed DG-ICAR and Secretary, DARE Dr. M.L. Jat.

The meeting was attended by farmers, potato seed producers, and CPRS technical experts.

Dr. Tomar appreciated the efforts of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for working on new potato processing varieties and requested the experts to focus more on releasing region-specific processing varieties i.e. cold sweetening resistant for Uttar Pradesh and heat tolerant/resistant short duration varieties for Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Orissa. He also suggested to notify the potato seed multiplication areas in Western Uttar Pradesh to multiply the quality seed potato as per the quality standards set by the Seed Committee, GOI and cater to the growing demand in the country.
